Greetings --
I just tried Intersolv's latest ODBC drivers:
INTERSOLV 3.10 32-BIT INFORMIX
This driver suffers from the exact same problem as ver 2.50.
I'll be fiddling with OpenLink's drivers over the next few days...
Sigh,
Jay

Since my original post has expired from
my news server, here it is again:
=================
It seems to be impossible to sort on char (or varchar) fields via Access
97 / ODBC linked to Informix...
--------------------------
create table sorttest (
col1 int,
col2 char(20),
col3 varchar(20)
);
insert into sorttest values (1, 'A', 'A');
insert into sorttest values (2, 'B', 'B');
insert into sorttest values (3, 'C', 'C');
[ Now, in Access 97: ]
SELECT col1, col2, col3 FROM sorttest ORDER BY col1; Works fine...
SELECT col1, col2, col3 FROM sorttest ORDER BY col2; [INTERSOLV][ODBC Informix driver][Informix] ORDER BY column
[col2] must be in SELECT list. (#-309)
SELECT col1, col2, col3 FROM sorttest ORDER BY col3; Same error...
SELECT sorttest.col2 FROM sorttest ORDER BY sorttest.col2; Same error...
SELECT sorttest.col2 FROM sorttest ORDER BY 1; Same error...
SELECT sorttest.col2 AS c2 FROM sorttest ORDER BY c2; Prompts for c2 (useless)...
--------------------------
This is a DEVASTATING bug (unless I'm just being stupid).
Any ideas?
