Why doesn't ROM support Viewpoint catalog extensions?

Hi all! This a question intended for Informix but if anybody knows the answer please share the reasons. As you might know, New Era comes with another product that allows you to create superviews and ad-hoc queries: ViewPoint. ViewPoint is not really useful to us except in one thing: "System admin tools". It has allowed us to manage our databases with better information and even generating some base code for our applications. We also relied in ViewPoint extended catalog data to document our databases. Now comes the next generation database system management tools: Informix ROM (Relation Objects Manager). It's very pretty but... no extended catalogs! Why? It's the New Era/4GL story again! Why drop the installed base? Why does Informix develop another incompatible tool? The extended catalogs are useful. The ViewPoint System Admin Tools are useful!
