Re: Upgrade gotchas?

I found a problem quite similar on HP-UX with ISQL (it didn't work when installed in the same INFORMIXDIR than the server - support told us it was a bug and our customer didn't want it installed at last), and another one on Linux (message files didn't install if 4GL was installed first - must install IDS in another directory and must copy the files to the final place). Most time I truly believe IBM is enhancing the products. But sometimes I wonder if they try the products. Or at least the intall process.
