If you do find a way to dump the tape and extract the table that was corrupted, I would really be interested in finding how you did it. You could set up a second instance on a seperate server, restore from archive, unload/tbunload the corrupted table, and load/tbload it to the first instance. This will save you from having to make an archive and restore of the first instance.
