RE: string constants in select
Posted in 2003
dbexport / dbimport does retain the lock level, if you specify system
specific (-ss) in the dbexport.
In 9.40 you can specify the default lock level in the onconfig, so can
always get row level locking unless you specify otherwise.
tabname is char 128 in 9, so does not fit onto 1 line in dbaccess. You can
select tabname[1,18] if all you table names are less than 19. Similar
comments apply to owner.

Subject: string constants in select
On ids 7.31 I could do this in dbaccess:
select "alter table ",tabname, "lock mode(row);"
from systables where tabid > 99 and locklevel != "R";
and output to a file (say setR.sql) and run it.
On 9.4, I get junk in the file like:
(constant) alter table
tabname acct_config
(constant) lock mode(row);
... etc for each table;
Is there a way to avoid this format?
Is there a way to make dbexport/dbimport retain the locklevel flag?
