Help !! - Logical Logs are full
IDS 9.21 UC4
LINUX RH 7.1
There was a long transaction aborted, an the IDS stuck in an eternal CKPT.
The online.log said :
"09:51:44 Waiting for Next Logical Log File to be Freed
09:51:44 Process exited with return code 127: /bin/sh /bin/sh -c /home/informix
/etc/log_full.sh 3 20 "Logical Logs are Full -- Backup is Needed." "Waiting for
Next Log"
So I tried with ontape -s (LTAPEDEV=/dev/null) bat nothing happend !
Then I restart de IDS with :
onmode -ky
oninit -v
But now It's stuck in Fast - Recovery

I tried to increase de number of logical logs from 6 to 8 but when I run
oninit -v said something like "the maximun logical logs permited are 6"
Someone can help mi please.??
Force a checkpoint ( onmode -c ) . If you backup the logs to tape did you
change the logical log tape
and re-run the script to start the log to write to tape therefore freeing
the logs up.

Here is
a method you can implement to free the IDS out of the fast recovery mode due
to the long transaction rolling back. In order for the IDS to rollback the
long transaction you somehow have to tweak the engine. Try this :
1. Increase your LTXWHM and LTXEWHM to the maximum numbers and then bounce the
engine. (if you don't need the these transactions then you can set the
LTAPEDEV onconfig parameter to /dev/null).
