If I am not mistaken Oracle had far worse accounting problem in 1990, than what Informix had, at that time they got clobbered in the market by 70%, this time they are blamming currency exchange rates, but the analysts might have understood that oracle engine is all patched-up for parallel threadding and may not be a worthy opponent if Informix can do better marketing of their engines.
