Ed,
if you have enough space on the device where your logfile resides you are
running out of locks.Either increase the number of locks for SCO or lock the
table you want to update, this will save you the locks for every record
updated:
begin work;
lock table tcf in exclusive mode;
update tcf ...;
If everything is ok then issue
commit work;
else
rollback work;
Note: You can only issue the lock table statement within a transaction in a
db with transactions.The commit work or rollback work statement releases the
table lock automatically so you don't need an unlock table statement.
