NEWERA Blob Editor -problems with Word Perfect

I am trying to use Word Perfect as my Blob Editor. But whenever I try to open the blob editor Word Perfect, it gives me a warning saying that the file format ("0012383.dat") as specified in execution parameter cannot be opened and it opens the document as Document1 and finally its not written back to the databse. It works fine with MS Word and NotePad. Does anybody worked with Blobs? Suggestions Appreciated.. reddyr@lmis.jcdc.doleta.gov
