Forgive me if my memory fails, but I'm posting anyway on the assumption that there may not be much other 1985 vintage expertise currently monitoring this group (and if there is, they probably don't have manuals to remind them either). I expect Scott is out there, so he should correct me if I'm wrong. As I recall: A read statement is basically similar to a select statement in structure, therefore you should add the field into the appropriate pre-existing read statement, rather than creating a new statement. The into clause specifies a temporary file to store intermediate results, thus there should be an into clause on all but the last read statement. I may be wrong, but I don't think WHERE was a valid keyword in INFORMER/ACE. There was some other word which achieved the same thing wasn't there? I didn't realise how much I had forgotten, until I saw this post! -- graeme -- Disclaimer: The author's opinions are his own, and not necessarily those of Pyramid Technology Ltd. or Pyramid Technology Inc. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -m------- Graeme Sargent Voice: +44 (0)252 373035 ---mmm----- Senior Database Consultant Fax : +44 (0)252 373135 -----mmmmm--- Pyramid Technology Ltd.
