Locked Table.

REPLY TO: CHARLEEN STONER REFERENCE: TABLE LOCKED BY USER MESSAGE (UNKNOWN USER) Charleen, I too, have experienced this error in SQL 2.10 and was stopped cold. When I called the Informix Maintenance people they thought it could have been an Informix bug during the compile stage of table modification. I tried looking all over the system for some hidden "USER" and found nothing and no one. Since Informix thought it might be an internal bug I shutdown the Informix program, restarted the program, recompiled the table and database, and low and behold...... no one had locked the table, everything ran perfectly. This "Table Locked By User Message" has occured several times since, when it does I drop the Informix Program, restart it from the command line, and let it go. You may want to give this a try next time you modify a table and database, it might save you from EXCEEDRIN HEADACHE # 999. Michael S.
