HELP ! - DBTEMP - ONLINE 7.12

Anyone got ideas on how this variable is used in Online 7. We have a big table (c 4million rows) and when we try to add indexes we are running out of space in rootdbs. It should be possible to set DBTEMP to make the sorting and temporary building take place on a UNIX volume that we specify e.g. /tmp This doesn't appear to work i.e. still uses rootdbs Any ideas folks ?
