The data size could be rowsize* = > number of records, what other factors do I need to consider? Something like 12 (or 16, I forget) + rowsize for each row, plus 16 (or 20) + index size for each index for each row, plus overhead for stuff like B-tree balancing, checkpoints. And remember that this must all fit in 50% of your logical logs, or the transaction rolls back. And remember that your first log may not be (probably won't be) at 0% when you start the transaction, and all the space that's used counts against you as well, toward the 50%. The fewer logs you have, the more of an issue this will be; e.g. if you only have 3 logs, and the current one is at 99% full when your transaction starts, you only get 1/2 of the next log before your transaction rolls back.
