Paul Watson relayed the IIUG announcement seeking candidates for the 2007 IIUG Board, with nominations closing 15 November and the election shortly afterwards, handled by the Nominating Committee. The replies from Obnoxio The Clown, Zachi and Eric Rowell were jokes about who to nominate. No substantive discussion.

IIUG - Election time IIUG Board of 2007
The 2006 IIUG Board is made up of users, partners and IBM employees from
areas as diverse as North America, Europe and Asia/Pacific. The current
IIUG Board will complete its term at the end of this calendar year and
in preparation for the upcoming election of the 2007 IIUG Board, an IIUG
Nominating Committee, chaired by former Board Member Sam Gentsch, has
been established.
The committee is currently seeking candidates to run for the 2007 IIUG
Board. If you have a passionate interest in Informix products, and the
drive, vision, and commitment to lead and represent the world's most
influential community of Informix users, please give your potential
nomination serious thought.
The closing date for nominations is 15th November, and the election will
take place shortly afterwards.

since we don't seem to have representatives from Australia & South
America, I suggest
we pick a well-known representative from the Linux community: the
Penguin :-)

I think what Obnoxio ment to say was he would like to nominate his
long time friends; Larry Ellison and Bill Gates.
