For performance testing tools, check out Segue and Mercury Interactive to name two. Be prepared to spend some real dollars for these top tier tools. Here are their links: www.segue.com www.merc-int.com On the other hand, be sure to read the performance tuning manual that comes with IDS. It covers the tools and methods included in your system that you can use to measure performance. Also www.iiug.org also has tuning information. <@logica.com> wrote in message news:81m39k$o8g@romeo.logica.co.uk... > Are there any peformance testing tools available that allow me to monitor > transactions of varying complexity to determine how long they take to > execute, what tables are being accessed (and for how long), etc. etc. in > order to identify bottlenecks, inefficient SQL, ineffective database design > and so on. > I had a quick check on the Informix web site and nothing stands out, unless > this capability is built into DBMS.
