In article <3vi0u5$ee8@infinity.ccsi.com>, tmorizot@infinity.ccsi.com says... >The client then has to have two components, a TCP/IP stack to communicate >with the Unix host and I-NET. I-NET must be purchased for each actual >PC. I believe it's about $100-$150 per workstation. The PB native driver >then talks to I-NET which actually communicates with the database. I seem to remember Inet being cheaper than that, but that may just be the effect of a quantity discount. I'd add that you don't have to stick with Inet; there are companies that offer ODBC drivers that fill the Inet role, while providing ODBC connectivity as well. Techgnosis comes to mind. Visionware with ,,, (SQL Retriever?) is another. One problem with Inet is that in order to access data with ODBC programs, you -still- have to buy an additional ODBC driver to run on top of Inet. That can be a pain. -- William Harris william@carsinfo.com CARS Information Systems http://www.carsinfo.com/~william/ 4000 Executive Park Drive Cincinnati, OH (USA) 45241
