Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Danny De Koster could not dbimport a database with French characters into Innovator-C on Windows with DB_LOCALE EN_US.8859-1 and client locale CP1252, getting error 23103 code-set conversion failure. Marcus Haarmann explained 8859-1 lacks some CP1252 characters and advised DB_LOCALE 8859-15. No confirmation of the result was posted.

Hi all, I have installed Innovator-C on my Windows machine for local
development. Everything is working fine. When I want to import (dbimport) a
existing database with French characters, the import stops.
The value of DB_LOCALE=EN_US.8859-1 and CLIENT_LOCALE=EN_US.CP1252.
What is the code page for using a database with French characters?
Thanks for your tips!
What is the error?

Hi Danny,
8859-1 has not defined some characters from 1252 codepage.
That way, you will get an error when these are in the data.
Try using 8859-15 as DB_LOCALE. That should cover all french characters.
Marcus
