I used to get this error and then Winsock error "getservbyname(WSANO_DATA)" , but after I checked the entries in services and hosts files in Windows dir ( I am using Win95), I now get Winsock error "unknown > connection problem" along with error -932. > > Am using Informix 5.05 with I-net 5.01 on Win95. > > Any help/ideas greatly appreciated. Hi While your client (eg Ilogin) is trying to connect, have a DOS window open at the same time. run 'netstat -n' in the DOS window (you have to be quick) and see if the IP address of the remote host and the port number is correct in the Foreign Address part of the output. I had a similar problem and found that for some obscure reason I-Net was picking up the IP Address and Name of a machine that bared no similarities to the IP Address and machine name I was trying to connect to. I solved the problem by changing the alias in the hosts file to something else. Also make sure there is no WINS or DNS servers which the client references. Cheers Sean
