4ge on RedHat 6.0 segmentation fault

I just upgraded my redhat linux 5.2 to 6.0. The 4ge programs compiled under 5.2 run just fine. The ones compiled under 6.0 just give the message "segmentation fault - core dumped" and die. OS - intel RedHat 6.0 2.2.5 4gl - 7.2.0.UD7 SQL - 7.2.0.UD7 SE - 7.2.0.UC5 I searched everywhere. Maybe I just didn't know where to look but I couldn't find any answers. Finally I loaded the 2.0.7 compat libraries, bin utils and compat egcs utilities. I changed $CC in c4gl from "cc" to "i386-glibc20-linux-gcc". It works. Now, did I do the right thing? Is there an easier way to accomplish this? thanks, ray
