The easiest way to do this is using dbexport utility. Dbexport will create a new directory with the same name as your database's
name and an ".exp" extension. Inside that directory you'll find one SQL script for recreating the database and a bunch of .unl
files - one for each table in your database. Dbimport utility knows how to insert the data into a new database. You should be
carefull with your environment settings (variables like DB_LOCALE, DBMONEY, DBCENTURY,...) They should be the same at the time of
database xport as at the time of database import.

I have no idea for Windows... We always used raw devices (unformatted disk partitions).

ServerStudio is a good start. You could also try WinSQL (http://www.synametrics.com/SynametricsWebApp/WinSQL.jsp).

I tried running dbexport and I got the following error:
C:\\Database\\Informix\\bin>dbexport
ERROR: Could not initialize the security subsystem. Please ensure that this
account has the nec
essary privileges and ensure INFORMIXSERVER value exists in the registry and
environment.
The user is and administrator of the system.
I put down the name of what I thought the INFORMIXSERVER should be (
ol_mymachinename ), and tried running it again and got this message:
C:\\Database\\Informix\\bin>dbexport
-23101 Unable to load locale categories.
Where can I find what environment variables I should set?

Also make sure your PATH and INFORMIXDIR are set.
