Numeric values win SQLWindows/Informix-OL 7.1

Hi! I am using SQL Windows, over Informix OL 7.1 with a TCP/IP environment. However, whenever I have a numeric data field either on Quest or on a SQLWindows Form, if I write a number like 12.5 and I try to insert it on the database, I allways get a SQL error of Illegal Character. I don't have any problems if the number does not have any decimal places! BTW, if I go straight to the Informix console and insert on the database a register with 12.5 (or any other decimal number), I will get it on Quest and SQLWindows, but it behaves like if the decimal point isn't there (so I get 125!!!). OK, another piece of information: the Portuguese standard for decimal numbers is not 12.5, but 12,5. But I already tried to configure Windows both ways (Portuguese standard and US standard) and I cannot get rid of the problem. The situation gets worse if the Informix column type is float!!! If I write 12 on Quest/SQLWindows, I will get 12 on Informix, but if I select the same register back, I will get 11.99999999999897!!! And, once again, the decimal point is ignored (at least, there is some consistency!). Does this ring a bell to anyone else??? Please, direct your answers to nuno.silva@ip.pr, for I usually don't read this group. Thanks in advance, Nuno Santos Silva
