RE: Verifying a tables LOCK MODE

The way I have always checked the lock level is to go into ISQL and
perform a select statement similar to the following:
select locklevel
from systables
where tabname = <your table name here (in quotes)>If the value returned is a "p" then there is page level locking. If the
value is "r" then there is row level locking.
Hope it helps.

}HI:
}
}In order to reduce the number of "dead-locks" on my INFORMIX 7.11
}database,
}I've attempted to change one of the tables from page to row level
}locking.
}After I did this I ran DBSCHEMA to verify that the change had actually
}taken.
}I wasn't able to locate the ALTER TABLE XXX LOCK MODE (ROW) anywhere in
}the
}schema. I'm not certain that the lock mode for this table was actuallly
}changed or not. Shouldn't DBSCHEMA report on a tables LOCK MODE if it
}isn't
}set to the (page) default? If not, how can I check on a tables LOCK
}MODE??
}
}I'd appreciate any info you could provide me with!
}
}Thank you
