Our client's DBA group is challenged to help achieve a state-of-the-art environment that meets and/or exceeds their current and future business objectives. They are currently seeking Database Administrators to work with other departments to provide technical guidance during the specification and development phases, to provide assistance in the management of the database and transaction-processing environment, to provide training to departments to help understand and better utilize the databases. Will work with technical support, application development, and system operation and help desk for trouble shooting problem areas. Requirements: *Associates, Bachelor of Science or Bachelors of Arts degree in computer science or related field. 1-3 years of programming experience, specific language not required but C, Perl, Korn shell a plus. 1-2 years with relational databases and transaction processing systems, preferably in a hardware and software vendor environment. Ability to express technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
