Determining Size of BLOB

Hello everyone, While reading data from a TEXT field in a table, I want to find out the actual size of the TEXT field so that I can allocate appropriate memory to receive the data. I don't want to use the method of setting loc_bufsize to -1 (which will automatically use GlobalAlloc to allocate the necessary memory). Is there any way to do it? Also, is there a limit of the maximum size of TEXT field which I can read/write using ESQL/C. Thanks for any suggestions/pointers. Puru Balakrishnan Symantec Corporation
