This means all users must have direct access to the RDBMS at all times with minimal latency on the lines. Things like management information will be taken from mirrored databases that will reside on the application-servers. I have talked with Informix and didn't think 64k would be enough. Even 512k would be bottom-line. To complete the case: the 64k lines are not only being used for the datbase-traffic. They also carry NT-replication data en Microsoft Exchange mail. > If this is a pilot project, remember you can always grow a bigger pipe > if needed. (Fract T1s may be a possibility.)[E1s in your case.] True, and we are considering that. At the moment two out of twelve sites have 512k leased lines. We can start by implementing BaanIV on one of those site. If we use a 64k-site as reference, this should giva a good indication of the "problem".
