Pricing on Informix website

I've asked a few IBMers this but no-one seems to know ... The www.informix.com webiste used to have an incredibly useful (to me!) feature which showed the list price of the main products in all currencies around the world. Since the last revamp about a month ago *only* US prices can be viewed. See http://www-03.ibm.com/software/products/us/en/informix-enterprise-edition for example. Does anyone know who at IBM could fix this? thanks Neil
They most likely discontinued multi-currency prices since it requires constant updating due to currency fluctuations. In other words, you do the math.

The prices are kept fixed regardless of exchange rate, and re-calibrated infrequently. As time goes by, wide differences in prices can emerge between countries' pricing for the same product. For example, 100 PVUs of Enterprise Edition costs US$43,900 List in the USA. The Sterling-US dollar exchange rate today is 1.51. The UK price for the same product is £31,000, which at today's rate is US$46,810. Irrespective of whether the exchange rate goes up to 1.80, or down to 1.20, the prices will remain US$43,900 and £31,000, making one country's pricing more or less competitive as the exchange rate fluctuates. The pricing is all re-calibrated once every 18-24 months. It last happened in January this year, which led to an unwelcome 5% rise in UK prices, hence the reluctance to do this very often. All global vendors face this headache. So that's why the loss of non-US pricing on the website is an inconvenience for non-Americans: there is no way of inferring your country's pricing from the US pricing. regards N

There could also be some restrictions imposed by the US Treasury Foreign Assets Control.

There could also be some restrictions imposed by the US Treasury Foreign Assets Control. Yes,maybe. In which case, I will fold my tents, creep gently into the night, and leave the selling of Informix entirely to Americans ... ;-)
