From time to time I had to implement Unix C functions to support 4GL applications, such as getting login terminal port name, and other kind of stuff. What I really would like to do is to find out how large the string parameter is when it is passed to C function so I can allocate enough space to pop it off the parameter stack in the C function. On other note, I would also like to be able to find out what type the parameter is - INTEGER, CHAR, DECIMAL, etc before I try to pop it off. I could implement generic C functions if I had access to this kind of information. -- Paul T. Pryor Integrated Microcomputer System Services, Inc ACIRS III+ Project (703) 756-8350 Voice/TDD
