Secondary Server gets stucked during Replication

Has anybody encountered the following problem with data replication. When we have a very high load on a primary server, the secondary server starts using almost 100% of the CPU. Eventually the primary server decides that the replication is down and continues working as a primary and data replication off. The secondary server seems to be caught in an endless loop eating up a 100% of CPU. We have seen this problem in both Informix 6 and 7 on HP machines UNIX 9.XX. Thanks, Sergei
