Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
While trying to install an update of INFORMIX 4.0 from floppy disk
with cpio, SCO XENIX 2.3.4 gets a kernel panic because of a
memory parity error. This happens on a 4MB COMPAQ 386. We are getting
no errors in regular multiuser operation. So far, we have tried swapping
out memory boards, but still get the same problem.
Has anyone encountered a similar type problem with cpio? Or, have you
had hardware problems that showed themselves in this way? Or had data
on the cpio archive that caused this to happen?
Thanks,
Will Johnson
