This is the way Informix-4GL works, and so how Informix-NewEra should work
too. A SELECT that doesn't return any rows does NOT reset the variables, so:
LET x = 12345
SELECT some_number
INTO x
FROM some_table WHERE 1=0DISPLAY x
will display 12345, not zero or NULL.
