HI, Our Company has some old business Software written in Cobol which we tried to get into the Database (Client/Sever) World. With stuff written in C this was done without any _serious_ problems. With (ESQL-) Cobol (DOS Client (ESQL-Cobol 4.1)) this seems allmost impossible. We tried TCP/IP Software from FTP und SUN but allmost all Configurations failed when we use the (int (Interpreter stuff)) in conjuction with XM. Since under all Configurations all other worked well (remote printing, ESQL-C, HST, Telnet whatever ...) it seems ESQL-COBOL can't be run using XM using int's !?????????? PS I am doing System administration and C/C++ Programming so i don't know to much about MF Cobol .... CONFIGURATION: PCNFS 5.0 NDIS: works (wow !) ODI : crash 5.1 NDIS: crash (OOOPS) FTPTCP Packet: crash NDIS : crash Client: dos/windows pc with inet-4.1 , pcnfs 5.0, 5.1 or ftptcp 2.(?) MicrFocus Cobol 3.x Sever: DEC AXP 3000/600s with OSF/1 2.0 , SE5.01 INET5.01 Here are Questions: a) Has anyone done such a Projekt with success ? b) Is someone working at a similar Project ? c) Is there any help from Informix ??? In Germany the folks from the hotline even doesn't know that there is a esql-cobol Product soo no support ehhh ???? _ANY_ Help is welcome !
