CISAM Umask misbehavior

We are just starting to use CISAM files with Acucobol and ICobol. It seems that when Informix creates a file, it is not letting the OS set the Umask to what it should be. Informix is setting it to some other value. This then causes problems later. Acucobol doesn't do this with it's own database, Icobol doesn't do it with ISAMs. But, both Acucobol and Icobol have this umask problem when using Informix CISAMs. Any ideas on how to fix this umask issue?
