Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Kuldeep asked how to do ROWNUM in Informix. Jonathan Stowe suggested rowid; Serge Rielau explained Oracle ROWNUM limits result sets. david showed SELECT SKIP 10 FIRST 5. Keshav noted that from IDS 10.00.xC3 SKIP and enhanced FIRST give pagination, applied after ORDER BY, unlike Oracle's ROWNUM which is assigned before it.

So it's a "relative row number" rather than a rowid.
