The setting required before launching dbaccess , onstat , ontape , etc. from command line. Setting performed explicitly by using the SET command. Another way is to edit the "%INFORMIXDIR%\\setenv.cmd" file when using the "Informix Administration Tools->Command line utilities" menu item. Good luck, Taras.
