While I'm not one for being "picky" I do think that OTC has been a trifle misleading here. It CAN be relatively trivial but in many cases it has proved to be very difficult indeed. It depends on what techniques and data types the original C-ISAM files used. If only standard character, FLOAT, decimal and date data types have been used, and provided there has not been any use of arrays within records, and provided alterntive record structures have not been used, then it is possible to map the SE database over C-ISAM. I've been there trying to map SE over C-ISAM on a few occasions and found it easier to create a new database and copy the information across from C-ISAM. regards Malcolm ----- Original Message ----- From: "Obnoxio The Clown" <obnoxio@hotmail.com> To: <informix-list@iiug.org> Sent: Friday, January 02, 2004 11:03 AM Subject: Re: C-ISAM to relational Database >> Have you considered an alternative, like sticking Informix Standard Engine > over your C-ISAM database? Ah... but I wrote both the C-ISAM app and did the migration. :o> > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Obnoxio The Clown" <obnoxio@hotmail.com> > To: <informix-list@iiug.org> > Sent: Friday, January 02, 2004 11:03 AM > Subject: Re: C-ISAM to relational Database > > >>> Have you considered an alternative, like sticking Informix Standard > Engine >> over your C-ISAM database?
