Timestamp on Replication Shadow Columns

Hello All. Is it possible to have the CDRTIME column to have a more precise granularity than seconds? YEAR TO FRACTION ? I am using timestamp conflict resolution and receiving quite a bit of aborted transactions due to identical timestamps, I have written a stored procedure so I can do timestamp, sp conflict resolution, but wanted to ask you experts first. Thanks in advance! Sam Gentsch Informix Database Evangelist Voyant Technologies, Inc. (303) 223-6641
no. What is the nature of the table that you are getting conflicts on. It might be that you want to consider letting this be populated via a trigger. You could also consider using SP only and then extending it to micro-seconds. The table is just information on a service, only thing changing is a cumulative time field, number of seconds a feature is used. If multiple processes are using the same feature and finish at the same time, only one of the use time is added to the field. (I am also checking on the software logic side of things) thanks so much s -----Original Message----- From: Madison Pruet [mailto:mpruet@us.ibm.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 05, 2003 1:05 PM To: ids@iiug.org Subject: Re: Timestamp on Replication Shadow Columns [602] no. I'd suggest inserting a record containing the time, using an insert triger to update the cumulative time, and then not actually replicating the cumulative time record. That way you would be 'replicating the addition' and not the row. M.P.
