I'm swinging in the dark a bit here, but try something like:
SELECT *
FROM systables, sysindexes, syscolumns
WHERE systables.tabid = syscolumns.tabid
AND systables.tabid = sysindexes.tabid
AND tabname = "your_table_name"
AND colname = "your_column_name"
AND colno = part1
-- assuming your column is the first part of the index...
HTH.
