I suspect you have 2 chunks overlapping...i.e. two entries in /dev/informix point to the same physical device and the sizes/offsets mean they are overlapping. If you are using a Logical Volumn Manager this could add another layer of posibilities that something is overlapping...possibly one link points to a virtual device and one to the actual physical disk... or two logical volumes overlap. Also check that your swap devices do not overlap filesystems / raw partitions or each other.
