hum... I can't help you with the Data Server Db2 .... but , the IDS manual say: "If you receive error 23104 when accessing the server through the DRDA protocol, the client application might be trying to bind a value that has a different encoding than the database locale. Set the environment variable GL_USEGLU to 1 before you start the Dynamic Server. This enables the server to initialize the appropriate converters required to handle the code set conversions." Do you try set this variable in the IDS SERVER side? --- Em qua, 11/2/09, nezreli@gmail.com <nezreli@gmail.com> escreveu: De: nezreli@gmail.com <nezreli@gmail.com> Assunto: Re: connecting to Informix 11.5 from .NET error Para: informix-list@iiug.org Data: Quarta-feira, 11 de Fevereiro de 2009, 6:54 > Hi > > Try to set this enviroment variable in client side: GL_USEGLU=1 > > Vagner I have tried it but it didn't work. I have tried setting it in the same process, created it as user variable and then as system variable. Driver was not impressed. _______________________________________________ Informix-list mailing list Informix-list@iiug.org http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list Veja quais são os assuntos do momento no Yahoo! +Buscados http://br.maisbuscados.yahoo.com

Any other idea?
Hi. I have found a solution to this error by accident mostly. The solution is one that I don't like and I don't understand but it works for now. On windows XP you have Regional and Language Options. From there click on Advanced tab. In the tab I have setting Language for non-unicode programs set to English (United states). If I change that setting to Croatian suddenly driver works as expected. I'm pretty puzzled why this worked since client app is actually all unicode?
