a simple solution that comes to mind is to use private synonyms. let say
that you have 3 divisions in your company, each with a separate customer
base. also assume that you have 1 data entry 'user' for each division.
you could then have 3 customer tables: customer1, customer2, and customer3.
the dab could set the pointer to the correct customer# table by executing:
create PRIVATE synonym "user".customer for customer#;
your code could still read the same for all users:
select * from customer;
i havent fully tested this concept, but for the 2 users i tried it for, it
worked. all standard disclaimers apply.
