ibcs & sco3.2v2.0 possible?

I currently use sco sys v/386 3.2v2.0 and informix 4.00UG2 Trying to move to caldera linux 1.2. have informix for linux installed and working. would like to use old isql from above if it is possible. I have tried it following informix ibcs howto v1.0f, 15 sept. 98 when I run isql get "unknown error message number '32766'" not sure if I am trying the impossible or just doing something wrong.
