A Windows trial version of inSight, the cross-platform client/server development environment, is now available for download at www.bup.lm.com The Macintosh trial version will be available soon. Runtime Macintosh versions for the 68K and Powermac are available. inSight runs on Windows 95, 3.1, NT, and the Macintosh operating systems( 68K and PPC native). inSight connects to remote hosts via ODBC, DAL or SAP. The inSight interface to SAP's R/3 allows you to directly access reports in R/3's EIS module. In doing so, you take full advantage of inSight's drag and drop, object-oriented data display functionalities. The interface was developed jointly by arcplan and SAP. Unlike other tools, which require you to directly access database tables, inSight's interface allows you to take full advantage of of the EIS module's summation, currency conversion, and multi-lingual capabilities. Thus, you have a marriage of SAP's high performance calculation and data preparation functionalities, and inSight's powerful data manipulation and display engine. The inSight interface with R/3 functions with version 3.0, which is currently being distributed by SAP.
