Archive error 78

I have got a problem on the archive of Informix database version 5.03.UC.1 under AIX version 3.2.5. While doing archive, the archive console prompt a error no 78 and all the users will hung up for several minutes until I kill the process 'tbtape -s'. I have report this problem to Informix and they said that this is a IBM hardware problem. Does anyone have the same problem? Could anybody tell me which PTF should be applied to eliminate this bug?
