Interestinger and interestinger - not connecting to engine

I have a user who's report is not working. Said report has worked for years for other users - this is a new user. I have checked her environment and it matches that of a working users env to a TEE. When she does... sacego -q foo.arc she gets all kinds of errors - too wit: The column "category_number" is not in the current table, or the user variable "category_number" has not been defined. Source code line number 32. See error number -9004. (FYI) --------------------------------------------------------------- -9004 The column name is not in the current table, or the user variable name has not been defined. The name shown cannot be related to either a column in a database table or a defined variable. Check its spelling. If you meant it to be a variable, add it in the DEFINE section. If you meant to name a column in the database, check to see if the table has been altered or its columns have been renamed. --------------------------------------------------------------- The trick is that she can 'isql database' and then manually run the report just fine. The other user also runs the report just fine - without any said errors. Just to make things more fun - I don't have source code for the ace report in question - 'strings' allows me to see and try out the select statement - which works just fine - both within isql and in a new ace report which I run from the command line. Permissions are at a public level - no permissions to worry about. Database is not in ANSI mode - there are not two copies of the same table (or view or synonym) for different users - though it sure seems like this should be it. I can do isql from the command line and access the data just fine. Anybody ever seen anything like this?
