Check following : All entries in SQLHOSTS , hosts, hosts.equiv and services are correct on both servers (see Apendix C in Guide to Workgroup Replication). Copy INFORMIXDIR\\etc\\mib.bin file to WINNT\\system32/ Start SNMP services on both machines. Define one of servers as "synchronization server" : when declaring DB server for replication, set the name of synchronization server for all servers except for synchronization server itself.
