Greg, As you are aware, currently the SHM segment must be based by the kernel as a SHM. That means that the limit is system-wide. So I don't think that you could exceed the 1.75 Limit. By the way, you encounter some problems with the SHM exceeding 1GIG - 2MEG because the way that HP allowed the size to exceed since the 9.4 days was to allow SHM segments to exists in the third quadrant and I don't think that you can actually span the quadrant boundry. I had not heard ofthe "Memory Windows" that HP was introducing. How does it work? My guess is that it is allowing each process to have it's own SHM mapping table which is loaded into the space registers whenever the unix process is switched. I'd like some more information.
