NT means not there when it comes to networking and security. Anyone who would put NT on an internet application is nuts! But, there used to be a compelling factor: cost. THis is nolonger true when you look at the cost of the NT OS (See Information Week.) Also the cost of SQL server! LINUX, is a cost effective option! Along with Apache as the server. (A blatant plug for LINUX! :-) But if you want a commercial solution, look at Solaris running on your already existing hardware! Yet I digress. You want to consider SQL server vs Informix? Informix is hands down superior! Offers way more opportunity for growth, and scalability. With JDBC/ODBC the connectivity to *any* back end RDBMS server can exist. Depending on the app, you have ODS,OWS,XPS,Universal/Illustra Server. But you already hit the nail on the head. Of course, what sort of answer did you expect when you posted to c.d.i! -Mikey -- #include <std_disclaimer.h> /* Mike Segel (MS385) */ #include <No_Spam.h> #ifdef OFFENDED_BY_CONTENT The author takes no responsibility for this post.
