Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

We are suffering from a bug (57173) in the version of Informix we are using.
(DEC dUnix3.2C, Informix 7.20UC3)
I wonder if anyone has a tip for a workaround?
The SMI table 'syssessions' is always empty. What I want is to get at the
active session numbers from an ESQL/C application running on a remote client.
This inhibits me from using 'onstat' and like tools.
The advice from Informix support is to wait for version 7.22 which will fix
the bug. However without a definite date for that bugfix release and my own
release date creeping up on me, I would be much calmer with a working
workaround while waiting.
I would of course like to have information on the sessions, such as what user
and what remote machine is using it. Having only the session numbers would
be a viable workaround pending the bugfix though.
/Johan
