Synonyms - again

Ladies, Gentlemen, honoured members of the net, We have a cinnamon which goes from one engine on one platform to another on another. Last week we had a -934 (connection no longer valid) which turned out to be because we had an index on a varchar field. So 'we' changed the columns in question to char. I don't know if 'we' re-created the index or not. Today suddenly we get -387 (No connect permission) for this cimmanon. After some this and that it turns out that the sillymon had to be dropped and re-created - at which point all was well. Q1) how did this happen? does a simynum work based on tabid or on the character name? Q2) is this a documented feature that I missed will STFM (Skimming ...)? Q3) depends on your fiscal year - it may actually start in September.
