Bar Codes in a Report

OK, this has to be the 99th time this month someone has posted a question about bar codes. I have always ignored these posts and now I have to post one my self. Oh! The ignonomy of it all! ;-) I need for our applications to print shipping labels, possibly in a 4GL report (though I really don't see how this can be done.) The model of label printer is "Prodigy-Plus" by a company called Fargo-Datamax. I have seen some samples of labels desired by different clients in the same industry. Labels are printed with shaded zones, with text in assorted sizes and fonts, including a bar-code font, all mixed on one label. I have just been handed the manual and have not yet looked into it, but I figured I'd start trolling for help in advance.
